Basic Coatings Emulsion has what many waterbased coatings do not—warm, rich, amber tones of an oil-based finish coupled with the fast drying, low odor of water based floor finishes..  Basic's Emulsion is self sealing (yes you can use it as a sealer), VOC compliant, and has an oxidative cross linked urethane system that produces better wear propeties than traditional oil finishes.  No mixing is required.

Recommended Basic Emulsion System:  Two coats of Basic Coatings Emulsion followed by two coats of Basic Coatings Streetshoe will give your project excellent wear protection for many, many years.  This system is ideal when you are seeking the warm, honey-colored tones of oil based floor finishes.  (For those who don't want oil based amber tones, consider substitution of Basic Lock N Seal for Emulsion.)

Approximate Basic Emulsion Coverage : Basic Emulsion covers approximately 500-600 square feet per gallon.

Basic Coatings Emulsion is a hardwood floor coating with exceptionally easy application and consistent results.  Basic Emulsion produces rich amber tones and is self-sealing and internally cross-linked so no separate catalyst is required. Use 3-4 coats of Emulsion for mid-range residential jobs, or use two coats of Emulsion under two coats of StreetShoe as an upgrade to get the ultimate in beauty and durability. Best of all, Emulsion is a water based hardwood floor coating, so there's no need to evacuate the building while working, and no messy solvent cleanup when you're done. Just use water for cleanup, as you would with any other water based coating.

Basic Coating's Dry Time Extender is an excellent additive that slows the dry time of Basic's water based floor finishes. While not needed in all situations, it can be extremely beneficial when the temperature , humidity or airflow are not favorable.

Add up to 12 ounces of Basic Dry Time Extender to any Basic Coatings water based floor finish such as Streetshoe and Emulsion.  Slowly stir the Dry Time Extender into the floor finish.  Dry Time Extender increases flow and level time

Reduces streaking and/or leveling issues.  TIP : Do not add more than 12 ounces of Dry Time Extender per gallon of floor finish..

Dry Time Extender Color .............. Clear

Material Clean Up ....... Water
